Sydney Van Trump chose to use her stepladder into the double-digit age by donating to her favorite thing: animals.
So when her household organized her 10th birthday party, she decided to ask her friends to create a pool of small change, rather than gifts, and donate it to Friends of the Animals, a no-kill animal shelter in Tipton.
She and 24 friendsUsuallymany of her fourth-grade female classmates, and some cousins came up with $300.
Im an gross lover, she said, and picked the Tipton shelter for its no-cause the death of policy.
Friends of the Animals Vice President Dee Shotwell was certainly impressed with that young lady.
She (said) that for her birthday she did not need anything for herself, Shotwell said. (Her award) was absolutely wonderful and much-needed. It just amazed all of us.
Sydney turned 10 on Jan. 3 and had a disco-themed dinner party at Town Hall for all the friends and family members who donated.
