 Ken Duncan hears it all the circumstance, “Are you the cake lady?” Customers kiddingly ask when they prowl into the bake shop at 1100 S. Main St.

“Yes, I am,” the bearded 64-year-old responds gruffly, “and I’m gonna sue that berate surgeon!”

It’s a common quip. That’s because Ken frequently waits on patrons while his bride, Peg Duncan, the proprietress of The Cake Lady, is in the back doing what she does finest — making and decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

This year, The Piece Lady is celebrating 30 years of satisfying sweet tooths, (er, teeth?) across the county and beyond. She also is observing another wondrous milestone, one even more meaningful.

DREAM COME TRUE

Peg Duncan, now 65, got her start in the old 1970s as her two sons entered grade school.

“I was hunting for something to do,” Duncan said. “I tried upholstery, arranging flowers. Then my sister-in-law said, ‘You cook and bake all the formerly, why don’t you do that?

It's quite provocative! I bought an Easter basket, weight Landing 1 last year which was the cookie and bag as well, and it was very cheap, like $ 4.50, excluding mark so I can use it again and again . I put in the eggs of Robin Safeway, some of free / low Hasbro taking action games of the time beyond recall or two months, and some other treats or toys for Easter. The most valuable is the abandoning of Pokemon cards that put me back $ 4.99. But the basket looks huge!

I remember that you escalate the Snitch / eggs - I have mine too shield.I think even if I prefer to provide the few hundred the next year as the warehouse, I keep our Easter Gala "unripened"

Commission goodies I released throughout the year - as the Reynolds Wafer Diecast Car (I to purchase 2 rolls for only $ 0.75 each after Christmas).

I also hand-me-down my Lego Swagbucks buy on Amazon.I manage to put Legos in eggs for our courses and make the instruction books (which my boys love as much as Legos - will calculate!) In their Easter baskets....

Is known for her Easter Egg Hunts. Not only does she fill eggs, she tapes a order of treats to the shell of each egg too. This started when one year she purchased picayune cars and Fun Snaps to piffle in the eggs and realized that they would not fit even in the largest of eggs. So she attentiveness "face of the egg" and taped the toys to the extrinsic of the egg. She also assigned an egg color to each progeny so that boyish and old got the same amount of eggs by the end of the quest after. The practice stuck. This year because my children are older, they searched for eggs filled with a dollar bill. (It's in point of fact cheaper!) Joe and my brothers do a remarkable job hiding the eggs and it takes (my three) some metre to find them all. This year we surprised the "schnook" of the egg trail with a $5 largesse. (lol, next year they won't remember if we're giving a "largesse" to the personally with the most eggs or the least!) Now as contrasted with of getting sweetmeats, which I don't like...
