One of my favorite things to do on a fine Saturday or Sunday afternoon is mosey around the flea markets in the burgh.  My boyfriend customarily hunts for old industrial furnishing while I scrutinize the old-fogyish jewelry cases filled with what looks like trash at first, but after systematic inspection, can be the familiar with of magnificently crafted pieces.  Though its giant fun, I’m always reminded of how much scrap there is in this delighted – while there are flea markets every weekend stuffed to the filled with old “gear”, there is new distribute being pumped out of factories by the millions every day!

A twosome months ago, I went with my sister to the Oecumenical Premium Show in New York.  Here, thousands of buyers from all kinds of stores around the men not fail to buy things that will at last sit on their shelves.  For 4 days, the Javitz Center is brim-full with row upon row of vendor booths exhibiting everything you can devise – power-consolidate scarves, door wreathes, personalized ornaments, assorted unusual controls…and the tabulation goes on and on.  I think there are over 10,000 vendors…so you can cook up. I invent it was when I walked passed a cubicle filled with painted Easter eggs that I actually realized how much shit we buy.  There were righteous so many eggs!  Big ones, peewee ones, pink ones, filthy ones. How many eggs do we dearth??  I trip how many painted Easter eggs there are sitting in a landfill good now? And that’s well-deserved ONE ornament for ONE day of the year!  Yikes!
