Former SC custodian Kelly Thompson, who was the NEWMAC player of the year in 2001 and who helped the Boast to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 in her senior season, is now in her second year as leader coach of Roger Williams University. She will bring her Hawks side in to face her former coach, Naomi Graves, when Springfield and Roger Williams tip off the women’s side of the Naismith Definitive on Jan. 1 at 5:30 p.m.

Skidmore will play Western Connecticut in the supporter game that evening at 7:30. The tournament championship game will be Jan. 2 at 3:30 p.m. following the consolation racket at 1:30.

Skidmore is coached by Darren Bennett, who played four years of football and three years of basketball for Springfield in the untimely 1990’s. He has been the head coach at Skidmore since 2004 with his best record coming in 2009-10 at 21-5.
