The Ellen Noël Art Museum, 4909 E. University Blvd., has scheduled Adventures in Art for children ages six through 12 years from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Registration and fee required. A special in-theater encore event, “Faust” by Charles Gounod, will be shown on the big select at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Century Theatre, 4221 Preston Smith Route. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $14 for children. Tickets may be purchased at the box branch or at www.FathomEvents.com. The Black Cultural Council of Odessa has scheduled their 2012 Martin Luther Monarch Jr. celebration week with the following events. Jan. 14: 7 p.m., “A Shades of night to Remember” talent show at Blackshear Magnet School, 501 S. Dixie Blvd. Entr is $3. Jan. 15: 3 p.m., Gospel Celebration at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1000 W. Clements St with the Rev. Ray D. Hicks of Bethlehem Baptist Church as tub-thumper.
