Students at Richmond Transitional Prime recently made special gifts for local rest home residents, hoping to put smiles on their faces.

The draw up was part of the school’s enhancement block, during which students participate in several interactive activities to exalt their daily learning experiences at school.

As part of the service project, the students created tariff picture frames, plaques and greeting cards, with inspirational messages to portion with the residents of rest homes. The students thought the project was a superb and easy way to reach out to the community.

Akiba Watkins, a junior at Richmond Transitional, said she often visits her grandmother’s sister, who lives in a arrive home, and thinks the visits help to lift her great aunt’s spirits.

“We go to see her at least once a month,” Watkins said. “She’s always opportune to see us.”

While sophomore Angela Gould doesn’t have a family associate who lives at a rest home, she was equally excited about the service contract that allowed her and her peers to share something special with the residents.
